Geocaching

The Polk County Chamber of Commerce Tourism Committee has created a Geo-Challenge to promote Polk County using geocaching, a high-tech treasure hunt that is not limited to any age. Using a hand held GPS (Global Positioning System), geocachers plot map coordinates to find treasure or “cache.”
The Geo-Challenge is a series of 10 caches around Polk County. To be eligible for the prize, geocachers must pick up a copy of the log form at either the Rockmart or Cedartown branch of the Polk County Chamber of Commerce. You may also download and print the log form from the link below. Found within each cache is a punch and code word(s) specific to that cache. Mark the log form in the corresponding box for each cache. Once all 10 caches have been found, you may return the log form to either branch of the Polk County Chamber of Commerce to claim your prize.
To participate, you must have an account or create an account at www.geocaching.com. Having an account allows access to the coordinates necessary for finding the caches. After you have found each cache, you must log your find at www.geocaching.com using the handle provided.
