The Big Spring


The second largest limestone spring in the South, this spring produces an average of 4 million gallons of water per day and provides water to 10,000 people in NW Georgia. It also was the site of a ball field and ceremonial dance ground of the Cherokee Indian natives until the early 1800s. According to legend, rights to the main water source, The Big Spring, were won by the Cherokee who challenged the Creek in a peaceful ballgame.

Skydive the Farm

This 55-acre farm, designated to skydiving buffs and beginners is located in Rockmart and houses a bunkhouse, showers, laundry facilities, team room, gear store, wireless internet and cafe'. The staff has over 14,000 combined jumps between them, and all are AFF instructors.

Seaborn Jones Memorial Park (Formally Wayside Park) on the Euharlee Creek


A city park, Seaborn Jones Memorial sits in the middle of downtown Rockmart along the banks of the Euharlee Creek. The name Euharlee comes from the Cherokee or Creek Indians and means "she laughs as she runs."

The 9-hole Prospect Valley Golf Course in Rockmart features 2,965 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36. Designed by Frank Herring, the Prospect Valley golf course opened in 1970.

Held annually the week before the Peachtree Road Race, this international training camp benefits the wheelchair bound, and develops their skills to compete in the Peachtree Road Race--wheelchair division. Over 20 countries are represented at this yearly training camp.

The 18-hole Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Cedartown features 6,544 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.7 and it has a slope rating of 130 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Ken Skodacek, the Meadow Lakes golf course opened in 1987.
